A Valentine’s Wishlist for Valentine’s Haters

A Valentine’s Wishlist for Valentine’s Haters

So I’ll preface this with saying that A: I hate Valentine’s day and B: I’m hopelessly single. So consider this a treat-yourself list. Who needs a date when you can have black lace, strappy details, and plunging necklines? Unless said date is going to buy you some lovely lingerie. In which case, carry on.

Reasons I’m happy to be single on Valentines day:

  1. I don’t have to find a gift for a guy. Which is effing impossible. What do y chromosomes like? They don’t even know. Can I just buy lingerie for me and say it’s for you?

But for the love of all that is holy, don’t buy these

  2. I don’t feel compelled to spend a lot of money on a dinner out at a restaurant so obscenely crowded that I can hear every word of the next door couple’s conversation.  Valentine’s Day is honestly the worst day of the year to go out to eat.
  3. I don’t have to pretend to like corny pink and red cheap lingerie. Seriously, if it comes with a flimsy g-string, it’s probably not going to impress me.

Because thinking about cleaning is such a turn on! (Lingerie by Dreamgirl)

  4. I can enjoy wine and Gossip Girl marathons, because all hail queen B! Seriously though, she’ll always be my nightwear idol. If only I looked like this on chill nights.

Anyways, on to the point of this post: amazing lingerie! This time of year, I get incredibly sick of being bombarded with garish red and pink sets, so I’ve decided to focus on my favorite: black. Black is classic, elegant, and stunningly sexy. While it might be common, it will never go out of style. I could never own enough black lingerie.

As always with my wish lists, I’m focusing on Indie pieces. This year I’m aiming to only buy Indie pieces to support ethical manufacturing and small businesses. I would rather own fewer pieces and have to save up, than know that someone died for me to own crappy $5 panties. Links to purchase products are in the captions of the photos.

On to the list!

Edge O’ Beyond

Esme Collection

Image

I’ve been hardcore falling for halter silhouette bras recently, and Esme has as few of my favorite things: illusion tulle, black leather, and leavers lace. This set just screams Rocker Chic to me, and I just know I’d wear it way too much for something only mildly washable :p The bra is available from XS-XL (cup volumes 30B-30E) and has an adjustable band that goes from 30-36. Not a wide size range, but Edge O’ Beyond is willing to alter their bands smaller if you ask, so that opens the style up to sub-30 bands in the same cup volume! Shipping is appallingly high to the US, but unfortunately that seems to be pretty common among UK luxury brands.

Karolina Laskowska

Daniella Set

I’ve been lusting after this set forever. That bra! The eyelash lace here is exquisite, and Karolina is basically who I’d like to be when I grow up. I can’t even explain how much I love this. Karolina’s pieces are all personally handmade, and they embody a standard of luxury rarely found in a modern world of throwaway things. I will own a piece from her at some point. Her standard sizing goes from UK 6-12, and all of her bralettes have adjustable bands.

Creepyyeha

Uri Set

Bra $275, Bottom Frame $200

So speaking of impractical but stunningly gorgeous lingerie, Creepyyeha is one of the most cutting edge, innovative designers in lingerie right now. Seriously, go look at her site if you haven’t before.  Her products are made to last, and each one is made to measure, meaning that unusual sizes/shapes can find a fit here. I’ve wanted the Uri set ever since I saw it on the lovely Of Lambs and Lace. Is there a more warrior princess lingerie set out there? I dare you to find it for me, because I probably need it too :p So I have a nerd confession here: I play RPGs. Like the old school kind with dice, character sheets, and giant ass books. So I can just picture my character in this, kicking ass, and I need it.

Hopeless Lingerie

Lydia Romper

Romper $250

Hopeless Lingerie’s ghosts collection seriously kicked ass. It was hard for me to pick just one piece from it, as I love many of them. This romper though is the piece I could most see myself wearing. I’ve been dying for a sexy plunge body-suit, and I love how this flares on the hips to add a bit of sass. I also love the super high cut sides. This would be a piece I could easily wear as outerwear under some high-waisted jeans or a maxi skirt. Or it could be layered with other lingerie for a stunning look! Sizing runs from XXS-XXL, and Hopeless can make items to custom sizing as well.

LaLilouche

Belle Chiffon Tulle Bra and Scrunch Knicker

Knicker $80

Mmm silk chiffon and grecian style. I die a little bit over these two lovely pieces from LaLilouche. Everything about the set is delicate and feminine. Perfect for nights when you feel more Muse than Huntress. This also looks unbelievable comfortable, and I can just picture lounging in it and feeling like queen of the world. A golden laurel band might just be a needed accessory to this piece…
