Curve Preview: Curvy Kate SS17

Guys, remember when I said this season was all about neon pink and royal blue? Yeah, Curvy Kate is bringing both of those with a vengeance in SS17. This season’s collection is bright, energetic, and unapologetically feminine. I will say, the pictures of this collection aren’t the best in the world. The lighting was super awkward. So sorry for that guys, but I’ll do my best to describe everything that doesn’t come through 🙂

The Neons

So, you can’t tell from the pictures, but all three of these bras are “holy shit” neon. The Russians can probably see them from the space station, that’s how bright they are. While neon isn’t my personal style, I think it works for Curvy Kate. Up top we have the new Smoothie Soul in polka-dotted Shocking Pink (also available in Latte). Its a new cut for this season, and is intended to be a lower coverage smoothie with a lower gore. This style will likely work best for shallow breasts.  Up next is the Princess, a classic Curvy Kate style available this season in Flamingo (in addition to black, beige, and white). It’s incredibly neon, but I actually find it quite cute. Am I becoming immune to the bright? 😮 They’re getting to me! The last picture is of the brand new Princess Plunge in the same Flamingo color way (it will also be available in black). I’ll be interested to see how the Princess Plunge fits, because I’m always looking for unlined bras with low gores. In the past, Curvy Kate’s unlined plunges have been best for projected, full on top shapes.

Royal blue is always a winning color for me. It’s so luxurious, classic, and regal that I can’t resist it in the slightest. The top picture is the new Smoothie Deluxe in Ultramarine, which is a balconette shaped moulded bra with J-hooks. As with other members of the Smoothie family, this style will be best for shallower breasts. The matching panties are my favorite cut: a Brazillian brief with wide lace edges. Swoon! 🙂 Up next is the Vixen in Ultramarine (also available in black). I love the Vixen’s combination of bright pink and royal blue, because it brilliantly sums up the collection in a single bra. Vixen is a cut and sew, bandless balconette bra that I believe will best fit wide and shallow shapes. Finally, we have the Belle in Indigomy favorite style of the collection. I adore the deep, purplish blue color, and am thrilled to say that the shape of the Belle is based off of the popular Bardot. So it should work for short-rooted, projected ladies! 🙂 Also, I love the suspenders on the briefs. Such a special touch to a set that might otherwise seem basic.

More Pinks

With Curvy Kate SS17, you’ll have enough pink to wear every Wednesday (any other Mean Girls fans out there?). Can Can in Flamingo is a flirty moulded cup style based on the Temptress shape. It also comes in an adorable longline babydoll (same silhouette as Kitty) that will be available in 30-40 D-J. I wish I could have gotten a picture of it! The middle style is the Florence in Shocking Pink (it also comes in blush and black). Florence is a lovely, classic balconette shape with non-stretch lace. It’s best for an even shape. Finally, we have Cabaret in Dragonfruit. Cabaret is one of Curvy Kate’s sheer styles that stay sheer all the way up to a J cup! 🙂 It’s a bit hard to tell in the pictures, but the pink of Cabaret is darker and deeper than the other pinks. And look at that lovely short gore! Yay for lack of stabbing 🙂

Black and Pink

Curvy Kate Bridget 28-40 D-J

Are you sensing a theme through this overview? SO MUCH PINK! Anyways, the top style is this season’s pink and black color way of Tease. Curvy Kate has been making this style for forever, and it’s still super popular for its blatant sex appeal and rounded shape. Keep doing you Curvy Kate, we appreciate your showgirl roots. In the middle we have Vegas, the lone printed style in their SS17 bra lineup. Vegas is another Bardot based style, so it will fit short and projected breasts best. The third picture is of Bridget, also a Bardot based style. Bridget is sheer up to a J cup, which is pretty ‘effing awesome. Bridget will be the entry level bra this season for Curvy Kate.

Damn do I love this season’s Aqua Portia (top) color way! It screams spring/summer to me, and I can’t get enough of the bright turquoise mixed with dark pink. Portia is an older style for Curvy Kate, and it tends to fit full-on-top breasts best. I may just have to retry Portia this season, because I need those colors on my boobs! On the bottom left, we have the Ellace in Indigo (which honestly looks like navy to me). I love the blue colors for Ellace, and I’m still dying to try it. Ellace fits a bit like Bardot, but it has stretch lace at the top and thus is better for upper fullness and size fluctuations. Ellace is also available in Black/Champagne and Latte this season. On the bottom right, you can see Ritzy in this season’s black/aqua color way. Ritzy is also available in a babydoll from 30-40 D-J. Ritzy tends to fit shallower busts best.

Overall, my favorite styles this season from Curvy Kate are definitely Belle and Portia! I clearly can’t get enough blue in my life. What are your favorites?
