Freya Enchanted: Bewitched and Brokenhearted

Freya Enchanted

Freya Enchanted

The Freya Enchanted is one of the few bras I’ve loved the styling of enough to try more than one size. It’s practical, whimsical, and has an adorable blue and beige polka dot bow in the center. What more could I need? After the success of my Freya Arabella, I was confident that Enchanted would be perfect, unfortunately it’s more like Marvel than Arabella. Close set women beware!

So this is the first size I tried in Enchanted, a 28FF. Obviously, it’s huge. It definitely looks more than a cup size big. It did seem promising though. And that bow!!! The straps are regrettably thick. Freya why do you do that to a cute bra? Do full bust women not deserve pretty straps? The straps are the only part of the styling I really don’t like. So, I buckled down and ordered a 28E hoping that it would solve all of my problems and be the perfect T-shirt bra.

Upon first glance, Enchanted and I get along splendidly. The cups aren’t all the way in my armpits, the shape is nice and rounded, and there’s nothing popping out where it shouldn’t be. Unfortunately, this bra feels like hell. The gore is too wide for me and it hurts within seconds of putting the bra on. Truly unwearable.

Which is a shame because overall Enchanted looks pretty great on. The shape it creates is basically the holy grail of unlined shapes if you’re full on bottom and projected like I am. The bows are so adorable. I’m obsessed with them. FREAKING POLKA DOTTED BOWS!!! <3 The lace on the edges is a bit too open on me and it wrinkles a bit. The cups are also a tad too small. The cups could stand to be a bit more projected and narrow for my liking. I bent the wires narrower, but they’re still not perfect.

And then of course we have the band. These are the tightest hooks and it’s still riding up. Fairly typical for Freya, but it’s still annoying. If you can, size down in the band of this bra. Look at the uplift! It is a bit pointy (as a result of my lack of upper fullness), but it’s   a much higher profile than the Arabella. This is definitely not a minimizing bra. It puts the girls out there to play. On me this didn’t have much cleavage, but it might if you’re more full on top. I think this bra would be best for someone of even fullness, in between bands (or who likes loose bands), and average or widely spaced. Overall, I love the Freya Enchanted, but it doesn’t love me back. It’s about as painful as Parfait Charlotte and I really can’t stand to wear it. Freya, you’re breaking my heart </3
