Karolina Laskowska is my biggest girl crush in the lingerie world. I’ve lusted after her pieces for forever, and I’m thrilled to finally get to review them! I want basically every piece she’s ever made. Her styles have a dark magic to them, beautiful but dangerous. Her latest collection, Celestial Bodies is absolutely stunning, and I’ll definitely be writing about it/wishlisting everything. In terms of value for price, I firmly believe that Karolina Laskowska’s pieces outdo most (if not all) luxury brands. The fabrics are all exquisitely beautiful, and everything is made ethically (most of it by Karolina herself). If you’ve been curious about indie luxury brands, I 1000% recommend trying her pieces. Everything is impeccably constructed, carefully finished, and originally designed. You will not be disappointed.
This particular set is the Natasza halter bra and tap pants. The halter bra sells for £60 and the tap pant sells for £85 (so approx. $213 for the set). I have the halter bra in a Large ( with an altered band to fit my ridiculously tiny ribcage) and the tap pant in an XS. If you fall outside of her standard range, it’s worth asking if something could be altered to fit you, as most things are made to order. The largest cup volume she currently makes is a 30E, but there’s a lot of flexibility in the styles and bustier women may be able to comfortably wear her soft styles.

When this piece came out, I knew it was fated to be mine! I’ve wanted a halter bra for forever, my favorite color is teal, and I’d been dying to try Karolina’s designs. The eyelash lace used on this is impossibly soft. It feels like water on my skin, and I really never want to take this set off. As far as sizing goes, I do think that I actually could have taken a size medium in this top. It’s a tiny bit tall for me, and I think it expects breasts that are a bit further down on the torso. According to the size chart, a large would be for size 34D/36C (which is a distant sister size to my 26FF). I think it could easily fit someone a cup or two bigger than I am, depending on your desired level of coverage.

In terms of construction, I have zero things to complain about. Every seam is finished beautifully, there are no spare threads or visible knots, and the stitching overall is incredibly neat and well done. I mention this because this set was handmade by Karolina. To be honest, this set blows my previous handmade purchases out of the water. Many of them well, look handmade, and this absolutely doesn’t (in the best of ways). One detail that’s a bit harder to notice is that the halter piece around my neck is completely adjustable. I have it on the tightest setting, because I have a very narrow neck and high set breasts. I appreciate the amount of flexibility in the sizing here. I could gain 50 lbs, and this bra would likely still fit me.

In a style like this, I don’t expect much support. You can see here the small amount of extra space I’ve got, but it really doesn’t bother me at all when wearing the piece. I’d say this bralette could easily fit a 30F (and maybe even 30FF) depending on how much side boob you’re okay with. When I’m wearing this for outerwear, I’ll layer my strapless bra or another bralette beneath it for added lift (and of course nipple coverage). You can see here how the halter strap and back strap connect to the bra. I find both connectors to be quite stable. Karolina Laskowska uses all gold plated hardware, which adds a nice, luxury finish to the items.

Guys, look how gorgeous this set is! I love the relaxed cut of both pieces. I adore a good tap pant, and these are absolutely glorious. They fit me extremely well, although like the bra I think they would also fit someone a bit larger. I think the XS (approx UK 6) was the right choice for me here. For reference, my waist is around 22 inches (55 cm), my high hip is around 30 inches (76 cm), and my low hip is 33-34 inches (85 cm). I think these tap pants are the perfect amount of flowy and the perfect length. The gusset of these is lined in cotton, which makes them more practical for everyday wear.

For those of you who like measurements, the halter bra in Large is 10 inches (25.4 cm) tall when laid flat by 13.5 inches (34.3 cm) wide along the bottom. The tap pants in XS have a 2 inch (5 cm) inseam, and are 10 inches (25 cm) tall from waist to hem.

Sigh, I feel so much like a ballerina in this set. It’s just so soft, and swoosh. Simultaneously perfect for lounging around the house and a fancy date. It’s comfort and beauty, tied together in glorious fabric and modern cut. Well, I suppose tap pants aren’t exactly modern, but they’re fabulous. Why are they not more popular? Because I have so much freedom in these to prance around in meadows and twirl in ballgowns (totally things I do).

Karolina Laskowska uses adjustable brands on all of her bras, to help them fit a wider range of sizes. Mine has been made smaller than the standard, so I don’t feel that adding it’s measurements would be very helpful. You can see though that I have a lot of space to adjust it both smaller and larger. Karolina’s standard bands range from a 30-36 band, and I believe that this one could cover from 24-30 bands. I love the adjustability of it, because it means that I can loosen it if I’m feeling sensitive and tighten it if I need more security. I wish more brands would go to an adjustable band!
Overall, I’m thrilled to own this set and am hungrily eyeing her new collection for my next additions! I can’t recommend Karolina Laskowska enough to anyone with an appreciation for truly luxurious fabrics and perfect construction. If you’ve ever been scared off by the price, rest assured that what you are paying is absolutely worth it.
