Lepel Bouquet Strapless Bra: The Perfect Strapless Bra

Lepel Bouquet Strapless Bra: The Perfect Strapless Bra

Hi everyone,

Sorry it’s been a while since my last post! My computer completely crapped out right as I was about to move, so things have been sort of insane. But, I come bearing amazing news: I found the perfect strapless bra. For a long time, I had been certain that the perfect strapless didn’t exist. Strapless bras were my enemy, and I’ve basically eliminated all strapless or spaghetti strap tops from my wardrobe. I basically accepted the fact that I would never wear tops like that because of my picky tits. But, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel! I swapped for the Lepel Bouquet Strapless in 30DD on Bratabase, not expecting much. But holy crap guys, this is the best strapless on the planet. It’s comfortable, functional, and reasonably narrow and projected. Best of all, it’s also very affordable! AHHHHH!!! I’m going to have to work hard to avoid immediately buying all the strapless tops ever.

Lepel Bouquet Strapless

So the Lepel Bouquet Strapless comes in black and white, and was originally available in 30-38 D-G. It’s a cut-and-sew foam cup, and the foam used is fairly thin and soft. This is not a bra that feels like a breastplate (looking at you moulded strapless bras!). I have this bra in a 30DD, which is a cup volume smaller than I’d normally wear. I’d say it runs big in the cup, and most people will want to size down. This is quite a pretty looking bra, and I love the little corset detailing at the gore. This does of course mean that the gore is wider than I prefer, and those with very close set breasts may not get along with this bra. For those of you who hate thick lace detailing, never fear, the outer lace layer looks to be easily removable and the cups are smooth underneath.

So that’s what the inside of the cup looks like! The seams allow for a much more projected fit than a moulded cup would, and I’d guess this bra would accommodate a variety of breast shapes. The strap you see on the inside is where the removable straps attach to should you choose to wear them. I find them too wideset for me, and I wouldn’t use this bra as anything but a strapless.

So the cups are the most narrow and projected that I’ve ever encountered on a strapless, and somehow they still both stay up and give a good shape. Truly incredible! The cups are 4.8 inches (12.2 cm) wide, and 8.5 inches (21.6 cm) deep. The gore is moderately tall at 2.8 inches (7.1 cm) high. The cups have the greatest depth at the apex, and I’d say that this bra is ideal for even shapes (though it works well for my full on bottom breasts). There is no silicone banding at the top of the cups that would cut into breast tissue. The cups are of moderate height. They’re very full coverage on me (because I have short roots) but they might allow for some cleavage with a different breast shape.

Seriously, this bra is a unicorn! Most strapless bras come up to my collarbone, and either give my the dreaded mouse ear boob and cut in, or gape at the top. This one stays remarkably clear of my tail of spence and armpits, which is much appreciated. Overall, this is just a very comfortable bra. There is some side boning, but it doesn’t pinch too much and I find that I can generally ignore it.

Look at those lovely, narrow wires! 🙂 The shape this bra gives is not the best in the world, but it’s rounded enough for me to live with. You can see here that while there isn’t a ton of immediate projection in the cups, there is a lot of apex projection. Over the day, this bra does crease a bit at the bottom as it gets pushed out of my IMF, but it’s much less bad than anything I’ve previously experienced in a strapless. Most strapless bras are wide, shallow, and tall by design, and this one bucks the trend just enough to work for me. I’ve actually found this bra comfortable enough to wear around as a normal bra, even sans straps.

So you can see here that the band is a bit big on me, and I have it fastened on the tightest hooks. It runs a full band size small, and mine stretches to 27.5 inches (69.9 cm). So you’ll likely want to size up in the band on this one. There is silicone stripping on the top and bottom of the band for stability in addition to side boning. I find that the bra stays put well, even being a bit loose. So for someone who actually wore a 28 band, I’d expect this would be perfect 🙂

Look at the outfit possibilities a strapless brings! I can finally wear this top without having awkward thick straps showing out! And I’ve been dying to add some high necked halters to my wardrobe as well. Now I have an excuse!

Overall, I highly recommend the Lepel Bouquet Strapless to narrow and projected ladies who have struggled to find a good fit in others. I’d suggest sizing down a cup and up a band (so 28F to 30DD) unless you’re particularly large for your cup or small for your band. I’m so happy to have finally found a strapless that works for me! Pigs do fly I suppose 🙂

This bra is discontinued, but you can buy it on Amazon UK, directly at Lepel, or at Belle Lingerie!
