I’ve heard a lot of buzz about new lingerie company Claudette, which specializes in super fashion-forward designs for our sizes — currently from 30-38 A-G bras and XS-XXL bottoms — and I couldn’t wait to share them with you! AND I am thrilled to debut the first photos of their latest two collections, the Marquisette and En Dentelle!
CEO Robin Levitt started Claudette because she couldn’t find a favorite bra over a D cup that didn’t break the bank. She wanted to give women swoon-worthy sets we would feel great about buying, and she’s started out with a bang.
Just look at these designs from the first few collections!
Here we have the colorblocking trend translated to lingerie and paired with the retro high-waisted panties that are so fresh right now:
And how about these knock-out mesh neon colors from the Dessous Collection?
Claudette sent me one of their hot pink Dessous bra sets (a 3-piece full-coverage bra) as well as a gorgeous and oh-so-soft mauve bra set from their Cool Cotton collection. I tried both in a 30G (the closest I could get to the 30GG size Claire at Butterfly Collection was trying me in), even though I had a feeling the cups would be too small, and size small panty.
As suspected, the bra fit wasn’t right on me — on both, the band was too big (Claudette says they’re taking out some of the stretch in the bands based on similar feedback) and the cups too small — but I was over the moon to hear that Claudette is expanding their sizes to include 28 and 40 backs ups to a K cup by Fall 2013. I canNOT wait!! I’m hoping a 28HH or J might be just the size to get me into these hot bras. (Look for a full and proper review once I get the right size!) The panties fit great.
The bra sets looked beautiful in person.
Here’s the neon pink. I loved the vertical seam on the back of the panties! Wearing a set like this under normal street clothes would make me feel so happy all day, like I’ve done something special just for me. Don’t you agree?
The sweet cotton set is a bit lower cut with a two-part cup. How fun is this “basic” in mauve instead of beige or white?
And now, for the preview of Claudette’s Spring 2012 collection! Claudette will be debuting these collections to the public at Curve Expo New York and Curve Expo Las Vegas.
This is the Marquisette in blush. Claudette tells me it’s based on the mesh Dessous but done in different fabric with a change-up in details.
And here is the uber-feminine En Dentelle. Hello, gorgeous lace! I love how the lace overlay on the bottoms falls past the side seams — it’s these kind of details that make Claudette’s bras and panties so special.
Claudette lingerie makes me feel like I can shop for beautiful, luxurious, trendy bras that happen to come in DD+ sizes, not, you know, special bras for DD+ girls with big ol’ cups and grandma straps. And although we have a lot of options with brands like Freya, Fantasie, and Panache, they’ve never elicited the actual squeal I made when I opened my box from Claudette and unwrapped the neon pink Dessous. All I can say is, thank you, Claudette, for creating true gorgeousness in the DD+ market.
The Neon Dessous collection and Black Dessous are in boutiques now, including Faire Frou Frou, Journelle, Forty Winks, and Real Girls. The new 2012 collection will be available at boutiques including Faire Frou Frou and Shopbounce.com. You can find a full list of retailers here.
